Furoshiki
Furoshiki is the name for the Japanese technique of using a wrapping cloth to transport clothes, gifts, or other items. The name means "bath spread", which derives from the practice of using them to wrap clothes while at the bath house, having previously been known as Hirazutsumi (flat folded bundle).
The finest Furoshiki are made from highly decorated quality silk squares, although they can also be made from cotton, rayon and nylon. There is no set size for the square, but typically they are in the range of 45cm to 72cm for gift wrapping.
